Prem Rawat - Maharaji - Paani mein meen pyasi Paani mein meen pyasi [03:19 min] If I want to quench my thirst, what do you need? People say you need water. So we search for water, put the bucket, pull it out. Fill a glass of water. We've got the water, but thirst is still there. Because it is necessary to drink that water too. There are people who have various beliefs. There is a couplet from Kabir
Paani mein meen piyasi
Mohe sun sun aawe haansi
Fish is thirsty in water, and this makes me laugh! Let's get this clear as to who this 'Meen' (fish) is? It is you. It's not about the fish, it's metaphorical to you. That which is inside, is taught to be very far, and this brings hopelessness. Our God is within everyone, No one being the exception. But the person who witnesses it, is the most fortunate!
Atam Gyaan bina nar bhatke
Kya Mathura, Kya Kaasi

You're not what you think you are. If you want to understand yourself, you need to understand that power that is within you.

When you look at the flower, you only see flower as a sweet scented stuff. Do you also think that this flower holds honey inside it? Honeybee has different eyes, and it sees flower as a source of honey.
Why did I use this analogy? Because I can also give you the virtue of that honeybee.

After some time, he started missing his family, so he decided to go back to his village. He took all his wealth and packed it in a suitcase, and started the journey back to his village.
He met a thief on the way. The thief became interested in the man's money and drafted a plan. In a very friendly way, he asked the man, whether he too could travel with him.
The man agreed. So, they both checked into a hotel. That day, when the man went to take a bath. The thief searched the man's luggage, but could not find the money this man had earned. Tired, he left the search. Next night again, they halted at an inn, to spend the night. This time again, the thief searched and searched for the money. But, he could not find it. The thief gave up.
Next day, as they approached the village where this man lived. The thief disclosed to the man, "Listen, I am not your friend. I am a thief. I wanted to steal all your wealth. Every day, when you would go for bath, I would search for the money which you had earned, but I could not find it. Tell me the truth, were you just making a fool out of me, when you told me, that you have earned a lot of wealth.
The man answered, "I knew you were a thief. So, that whenever, I would go for a bath, I would hide the bundle of money under your pillow. Because, I knew you would search for it everywhere, but not under your pillow."
This is what happens with everyone, each one of us searches for peace on the outside. But we are unable to find it. This is because, the peace we are looking for, is not on the outside. It is within us. This is why Socrates said, "Know Thyself!"

That what you're looking for, is inside of you.
I don't just say it. If you want to experience peace, I can make it possible for you.
People say if it is so good, then give it now. But the point is, it is already inside of you. Then how do I give?
